| A3 motorway. 11.32 am . So much for the ''Go to the beach '' idea. |
So...I went straight to a Tyre outlet and asked to get the puncture fixed. No go. Low profile tyres start to bead and then shred themselves internally when not filled with air, and to compound matters the weight of a rear mounted engine car will hasten the process when it occurs on a rear tyre as per above. So I ask how much to replace a tyre that I only purchased 3 weeks ago.
£304.00.
£304.00 !!!!????!!! 300 and effing 4 quid for a piece of treaded rubber ??
That got me thinking. Forget gold or silver or any other well sought after commodity, it is clear that it is rubber you need to buy. After all more people use rubber than either gold or silver and probably more than both those combined. So I did some research.
Your average car tyre weighs (according to the Recovery Association) 7.6 kg. That is 268 ounces give or take a little. That's USD $1.80 an ounce. Cheap as chips. Get on board now and don't forget who told you.
